North Carolina pest control continuing education

North Carolina structural and pesticide credentials require continuing education credits to stay certified. How many you need, and in which phase or category, depends on your license. Your NCDA&CS records are the final word.

These courses are pending NCDA&CS approval and are not open for enrollment or credit yet. Browse the outlines below and get one email when they open.

What do you do?

How North Carolina credit will work

Structural and pesticide credit are separate
Structural pest control credit is counted in CCUs: some in your own phase (Household Pest P, Wood-Destroying Organisms W, or Fumigation F) and the rest from any approved structural course. Pesticide credit is counted by applicator category, such as Ornamental and Turf.
One hour, one credit
One credit equals one hour of approved training. Structural courses are approved in whole hours, each counting toward one category; pesticide credit also allows half credits for 25 minutes or more. Each of our courses is built for 2 credit hours.
Approved courses carry a course code
NCDA&CS approves courses for a period ending June 30 and assigns each a course code. Until a course has its code, it can't be taken for credit, which is why these show Coming soon.
We report your attendance
When you pass an approved course, we report your attendance to NCDA&CS using the license details you give at enrollment. For structural credentials, that is the license type and file number on your NCDA&CS ID card.

Requirements for your own license come from the NCDA&CS Structural Pest Control & Pesticides Division and your NCDA&CS records. This page is general information, not legal advice.
