Legal
Educational & Regulatory Disclaimer
Effective May 17, 2026
1. Educational Use Only
All PestEd course materials, lessons, quizzes, AI Tutor responses, and other content published on this website are provided for educational purposes only. They are not, and should not be relied upon as, legal advice, regulatory interpretation, or a substitute for the judgment of a licensed Florida certified operator, attorney, or qualified expert.
2. No Legal or Compliance Advice
Florida Statute Chapter 482 and Florida Administrative Code Rule 5E-14 contain the binding rules governing the structural pest control industry in Florida. Where our courses describe a statute, rule, or recommended practice, that description is a summary for educational use. For binding regulatory guidance on any specific situation, contact the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS):
3. Continuing Education Credit
PestEd is a registered Florida continuing education provider. Course approval numbers appear on each course's description page and on each issued certificate. PestEd makes reasonable efforts to ensure that course content reflects current FDACS requirements; however:
- FDACS retains final authority over the acceptance of any continuing education credit toward a license renewal.
- PestEd does not guarantee that any specific course will be accepted in every individual case.
- You are responsible for verifying that your continuing education credit has been properly applied to your license record by FDACS.
- It is your responsibility to renew your license on time and to maintain compliance with all applicable laws and rules.
4. AI Tutor and Other Automated Content
PestEd may offer an AI-powered study assistant (“AI Tutor”) to help learners understand course material. The AI Tutor uses large language model technology and may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated responses. You should not rely on AI Tutor output as a substitute for the course itself, for FDACS regulations, or for professional judgment. Always verify regulatory information against the source statute, the source rule, or directly with FDACS.
5. Product, Pesticide, and Application Information
References to specific pesticide products, active ingredients, application rates, or treatment methods are illustrative examples based on commonly accepted industry practice at the time of course writing. Product labels, registrations, and regulatory status change frequently. The product label is the law. Always read and follow the current product label for any product you handle or apply, and verify that the product is currently registered for the intended use in Florida.
6. No Guarantee of Outcome
Completion of a PestEd course does not guarantee any particular professional outcome, including but not limited to passing a state licensing examination, retaining a license, prevailing in a regulatory matter, or achieving any specific pest control result in the field.
7. External Links and References
Our courses and website may reference or link to external resources (e.g., FDACS, EPA, university extension publications). PestEd does not control and is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or availability of any external resource.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PestEd and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any damages arising out of your reliance on any course content, AI Tutor response, or other information provided through the Services. See our Terms of Service for the complete limitation of liability provisions.
